Gibbing
Six points of contact on the slide ensure complete, repeatable control. Extra long bronze slide ways and Turcite surfaces ensure non-binding of the slide. Gibbing can be adjusted with Pacific’s exclusive wedge design, reducing the need for shimming. Upgrade to 8 point gibbing for the Pacific column press for maximum rigidity. The Pacific gib guided presses are the best in the industry for all pressing operations, especially off-center loading.
Frame Design
Each Pacific gib-guided press has been FEA (finite element analysis) approved for infinite frame life. Precision design specifications and heavy, interlocked steel frame construction ensure that each press will absorb shock and uniformly distribute forces of all pressing and punching operations. All machines up to 500 tons and 10 feet long are flush floor.
Box Type Bed Construction
The box-type bed is internally reinforced to provide low deflection for all pressing applications. The interlocked design of the bed with the side frames or columns permits forces to be transmitted through parent metal rather than through bolts, tie rods, or welds.
Slide Assembly
The internally reinforced, box-type double plate construction provides maximum stability with extremely low deflection for all pressing operations. The extra long slide surfces maintain full bearing contact with the bibbing to provide positive guidance and exceptional punch and die alignment with every stroke.
Bed and Slide Bolsters
The extra thick bed and slide bolters have ¾” T-slot machined for easy tool and die clamping. The large bed bolster is removable and interchangeable for future modifications. Custom machining patterns are easily achievable by Pacific’s expert engineering and machining personnel.
Heat Exchanger and Automatic Lubrication
Pacific’s machines are designed to hold up against the harshest industrial applications. That is why we outfit each machine with a heat exchanger and automatic lubrication system. The heat exchanger ensures cool operation of the power unit while the lubrication system ensures long life of Pacific’s exclusive gibbing system.
Training and Installation
Factory trained technicians install each Pacific straight side and column press and train operators on the easy to use controls. Pacific also offers extended training programs for operators and maintenance personnel.
