How this position supports Akhurst:

As an integral member of the team creating a cost effective, excellent customer experience, the Inside Sales Representative – Warehouse is responsible for providing support to Akhurst’s customers and Account Representatives, as well as the shipping and receiving of machines, parts and supplies at the Moncton location. Akhurst relies on the Inside Sales Representative to make good business decisions that reflect an effective use of company resources. The incumbent should be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of applications and have prior exposure to CRM and ERP software. The individual should be a hands-on, organized and motivated individual with a desire to help the company grow its operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Vice-President, Sales, the duties and responsibilities of the Inside Sales Representative – Warehouse include, but are not limited to, the following:

Sales Support

  • Handle incoming customer calls, fulfilling parts, tooling and supplies requirements in accordance with Akhurst’s customer service standards;
  • On a timely basis, enter customer quotations, purchase orders, and sales orders into Akhurst’s Navision ERP system;
  • Track orders, monitoring their progress to ensure timely delivery, communicating with parts suppliers by email and phone as necessary and recording correct and up to date information in ERP system;
  • Keep customers informed of current delivery status and accurately respond to customer inquiries.
  • Handle incoming customer calls and office visits for machine inquiries, directing customers to the appropriate Account Representative in accordance with Akhurst’s customer service standards;
  • Support the sales team in achieving sales and operational goals, including generating machine sales leads from parts sales; and
  • Continually update accurate sales activity and customer information in the CRM & ERP systems to support Akhurst’s customer service standards.

Warehouse Coordination

  • Ship and receive machines, parts, and supplies, in accordance with Akhurst warehouse procedures including recording of receipts / shipments in Akhurst’s Navision ERP system;
  • Arrange trucking and cartage with company approved carriers and prepare bills of lading on a timely basis;
  • Safely and efficiently load/unload and crate/uncrate machines;
  • Receive returned machines/parts and prepare proper documentation on a timely basis;
  • Place received machines in showroom on a timely basis;
  • Properly identify and label parts and supplies for stock;
  • Under the direction of the Inventory Control/Lease Coordinator, perform accurate and timely stock counts as directed and reconcile differences;
  • Prior to shipping ensure credit approval for shipping has been obtained;
  • Promptly handle any customer shipping inquiries in accordance with Akhurst’s customer service standards, escalating to management as required; and
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the warehouse.

Minimum Requirements

  • Parts sales and customer service experience is required;
  • Shipping/receiving experience;
  • Knowledge of woodworking machinery/parts is beneficial;
  • Valid Driver’s License and Forklift Certification;
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with the Microsoft Office suite of software is required;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics software (CRM and Navision) is an asset;
  • Highly organized with a high level of accuracy and thoroughness;
  • Ability to take initiative and be proactive in follow-through;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Highly motivated and energetic with a positive attitude;
  • Keen interest in providing superior customer service;
  • Proven ability to prioritize, multi-task, and problem solve to anticipate customer needs;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines; and
  • Motivated to learn.

Working Conditions

  • Work normal business hours and may, from time to time, be required to do some work in the evenings or outside normal working hours;
  • Able to work on a computer for long periods of time;
  • Able to concentrate for extended periods and maintain attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Able to stay focused and productive in a busy, open area office; and
  • Able to manage multiple sales orders and deadlines.
