MATTEI

Used Blade 7 LXTM Series Rotary Vane Compressor

Machine Information

The Mattei rotary vane compressors are the result of 90 years of investments for the research and development of continuous improvement of performance while respecting the environment. Designed for continuous industrial service, they guarantee constant performance over time, reliability, functionality and simplicity of maintenance operations.

The BLADE 4 – 11 kW series compressors are equipped with a single-stage rotary vane compressor driven by electric motor and tank mounted The units are fully autonomous and equipped with cooling, lubrication and regulation systems.

The design with meticulous attention to detail, the high standard of design and assembly, the quality of the components and the high-tech machining place Mattei compressors at the top of their class. Moreover, the compact size and low noise level make it possible to use them near work stations without any negative impact on the working comfort of the people in terms of environment and noise pollution. The blades, which are the heart of the Mattei rotary compressors, are designed to exceed 100,000 hours of use.

Operating principle
The vane compressor is a volumetric rotary compressor consisting of an eccentrically bored cylinder, called a stator, inside which a rotor tangent to the latter rotates, and two covers. The rotor is equipped with longitudinal grooves in which the blades in contact with the stator slide thanks to the centrifugal force. The seal between the moving parts, the cooling and lubrication are guaranteed by an efficient oil injection system, which flows out thanks to special ports due to the pressure difference between the compression chamber and oil tank. Therefore, pumps are not required for lubricant circulation. An oil film on the inner surface of the stator prevents direct contact of the moving parts and, therefore, prevents wear.

No thrust bearing
Vane compressors do not have axial forces that push the rotor against the covers and, therefore, the position does not need to be checked with the use of thrust bearings.

Continuous and constant air delivery
The air is continuously compressed without pulses thanks to the decrease in the compartment volumes formed by the stator, the rotor and the blades.

Air circuit

Air intake filter
The incoming air passes through a dry-type filter that is able to retain the impurities normally present in atmospheric air.

Intake valve
The filtered air passes through the intake valve and enters the rotor-stator to be compressed.

The minimum pressure and non-return valve
This ensures a minimum pressure within the oil chamber to ensure proper operation when the compressor supplies air. Moreover, the valve prevents the return of air into the compressor.

Rotor-stator unit
Rotary vane compression unit with a low rotation speed of the air end and with high volumetric efficiency. This offers more than 15% in energy savings compared to other rotary compressors.

Compressed air after cooler
Amply sized compressed air after cooler made entirely from aluminium.

Oil circuit

Oil injection
The seal between the moving parts, the cooling and the lubrication are guaranteed by an efficient oil injection system. An oil film on the inner surface of the stator prevents direct contact between the moving parts and, therefore, prevents wear.

Air-oil separation

All Mattei compressors have a multi-stage oil separation. Since a mixture of oil and compressed air passes through various separation, mechanical and coalescence phases, a content of oil in the air less than 1mg/m 3 is purified. Thanks to this particular separation system, the dragging of oil in the Mattei compressors is extremely low. The generous size of the filters and the quality of the materials used guarantee long duration of the same.

Oil after cooler

The air and oil radiator made entirely of aluminium, for the removal of heat generated during compression. The temperature of the compressed air output is slightly higher than the ambient temperature.

Mattei Rotoroil Lubricant

The Mattei compressors are supplied with a load of Mattei Rotoroil lubricant, an oil-cooler designed to maximize the efficiency of the Mattei blade rotary compressors.

Transmission

The compressor and motor are coupled by means of:

  • Pulleys and V-belts for the BLADE 4-5-7 versions
  • Pulley and elastic Poly-V belt for the BLADE 11 versions

For the Blade 4-7 versions the sliding belt tensioning system and the quality of the belts ensure their long functioning life. Special maintenance kits further simplify the operations of programmed maintenance. Blade 11 does not require a belt tensioning system.

Air circuit

Air-to-air exchanger

The counter current flows of the air-to-air exchanger ensure maximum efficiency in the thermal exchange. Once the outgoing compressed air is cooled, it enters the evaporator where it reaches the set dew point.

Condensation separator

A “demister” type, it is equipped with a timed solenoid that can be programmed. Before leaving the system, the dried compressed air heats in the air-to-air exchanger and chills the incoming air.

Adjustment

The BLADE SE 4 – 11 kW compressor series have state-of-the-art electronic control devices to automatically control the compressor operating states.

“Continuous” mode

The compressor supplies air that falls within a pressure minimum and maximum. When the maximum pressure is reached, the intake valve closes, and the compressor is placed “under vacuum” and decompressed to reduce the absorption of energy. When the line pressure lowers to the minimum set, the compressor is “loaded” and instantly recovers delivery.

“Automatic” mode
This allows the compressor to work continuously with the additional possibility of automatically stopping in the absence of required air.
