The basic requirement for the briquetting of wood/paper on the SZ1 is a water content of <15% and a particle size of < 30 mm. Due to the absence of a precharger, the capacity is strongly influenced by the chip form.
From our experience, the capacity of the SZ1 with wood chips range from 30 kg/h to 50 kg/h, depending on the customer’s material. A definite statement on the capacity of the machine and the briquette quality is only possible after a briquetting test with original material at RUF.
Functional description SZ1 Series
Unlike our mould models and shutter models, the SZ1 does not produce single briquettes, but a briquette string.
A feeding screw conveyor transports the material into the press channel. The collet consists of two semicircular plier parts, through which the material is pressed. Compaction is achieved by the pressure of the press channel and the two plier’s parts that are firmly pressed against each other (friction force).
As soon as the press piston has reached its pressure, the upper pliers part opens and relieves the material. The briquette string is pushed out to the front.
