Job Summary:

Reporting to the Service Coordinator, the Service Technician will be responsible for initial startup, operator training and servicing of a wide range of new and used machinery for customers located in British Columbia. Following a review of the Service Coordinator’s initial assessment of a service call, the Service Technician will rely on strong diagnostic skills to assess the extent of a problem and its appropriate remediation, requisitioning parts and performing repairs in an efficient and timely manner. The successful candidate will be a high-energy, self-motivated outgoing professional with a skillset that includes -or can be expanded to include- expertise in the service requirements of the company’s product offerings. Excelling in a challenging environment, the individual must be able to travel to look after our customers throughout British Columbia with periodic travel to other western provinces.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Machine start up and customer training
  • Servicing customer’s machinery in an efficient and timely manner
  • Getting the necessary technical knowledge in the company’s line of machine products by attending scheduled training sessions or sourcing information through self-means
  • Completing customer work order reports in the designated manner
  • Submitting work orders, time sheets and expense reports on a timely basis
  • Following the company’s service methodology when performing service work
  • Communicating customer issues to Service Coordinator in a timely fashion
  • Any other related tasks as assigned

Education & Experience:

  • Strong electrical, electronic and mechanical ability is important.
  • Application experience in the Fabrication and Machine Tool trades is an asset
  • Basic hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge is an asset
  • Experience as machine service technician is an asset
  • CNC controlled machinery experience is an asset

  • Proven ability to prioritize, multi-task and think ahead – anticipating the needs of the customer.

  • Highly motivated and energetic, as well as a positive attitude and a pleasant and calm demeanor.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
  • Motivation to learn.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Office.
