The 3700 Series Cross Cut saws were developed to safely and effectively cross cut wood, wood products, composites and plastics. This series differentiates itself from other machines because the blade is visible only when the handle is pulled or the machine’s semi-automatic cycle is activated. The cutting is done safely inside a cutting box where the sawdust is pulled back into the machine and removed through the dust port on the back side of the frame.
Construction of these machines consist of a heavy-gauge steel frame that is powder coated for a lasting finish. This frame houses the beam and carriage assembly, which rides on precision linear guides. This assembly creates a very rigid, accurate moving carriage that will produce smooth cuts for the service life of the machine. Cross Cut saws are available as manual (M) and semi-automatic (S) models.
Features include :
The manual machines (models 3710.M, 3715.M, 3720.M, 3725.M) utilize a simple pull-handle on the right side of the machine. To operate, pull the carriage radially ahead to cut through the material. When the tension on the handle is released, the carriage returns to its home position under the machine shroud.
The semiautomatic machines (models 3710.S, 3715.S, 3720.S, 3725.S) use a smooth running belt-drive system. The system is powered by a reliable DC motor, which is controlled by our time tested drive units. During the cutting process, the desired material is clamped either manually or pneumatically and the cutting head is controlled by the push of a button. On these models, the carriage stroke is varied by the adjustable stops on the right side of the machine. This time saving feature reduces waiting by ensuring that the blade doesn’t travel farther than needed to cut the desired length.
Extension tables will handle the applications where rollers are not required. They are constructed of 11-gauge steel and powder coated with a textured finish.
The Measuring System consists of a heavy extruded aluminum rail with easy to read black on white background measuring indications. The sliding unit glides effortlessly on low friction wear pads, making the stop easy to use and easier to accurately position because of the smooth motion.
The blade cover is interlocked so the unit cannot be started with the cover removed.
Manual clamps with side covers, are completely guarded to prevent a pinch point. The ingenious system not only clamps material to be cut against the fence but also seals in the cutting area to help keep dust and debris in the dust collection system and not in your facility.
Plexi-glass cover for safety that shields the operator from dust and debris but allows full viewing of the cutting process and clamping area.
Integrated dust collection port on the rear of the machine. Allows for easy connection into your existing dust collection system or to attach a stand alone system. Minimum of 900 CFM required to adequately remove the dust generated.
Beam: heavy steel beam that has been welded and machined to tight tolerances. Carriage: laser cut and weldment that rides on rigid roller packs and hardened and ground replaceable tracks. Motor: Original Saw’s own time tested 5 HP and 7.5HP motors manufactured in their own Northern Iowa facility.
Handle for placing operators free hand onto when operating the manual versions of the 3700 series saws. (not applicable with the semi-automatic versions)
Manual pull handle has the ability to be adjusted to user’s request by simply loosening the clamp bolts on the handle mounting bracket.
Electrical access door. All electrics are conveniently and safely located behind the front access door.
